Scrap use

It's new challenge day at the Crafty Catz challenge.

The theme this time is "For a Boy"

There is no sponsor this week.

If your like me I have lots of pieces of patterned paper left and I really don't like to throw them away. So this is an easy way to use them up that is really effective and perfect for those men we know.

For my masculine cards I've decided to make use of some left over small pieces of patterned papers. It's really easy to just take various lengths and widths of patterned papers layer them on a co-ordinating plain card. Then just lay them out in an interesting design. These two have had some card candy, die cut stars and a button added for decoration.

Woofy Birthday

It's time for a new challenge over at

Our sponsor is Beccy's Place.
And this is one of her imaged called

Our theme this week is more than one fold.

I've used a 5x7 landscape card with about 1.5 inches cut off the front edge. On this flap  I have added the die cut birthday sentiment. Plus to the side a doggy woof which can still be seen when the image front flap is closed.

Then I've used a 3x10 piece of card folded in half to make a smaller card. This has then been used to make an inner card that folds the opposite way.

This view then gives you and idea of how the fold looks. These background cards have been covered in doggy related patterned papers.

The  image has been coloured with polychromo pencils. This has been put on the top flap which is the smaller card. Behind the images I've used a paw print stamp.

last Christmas snowflake

Just one last Christmas card to share. I tend to put my christmas craft supplies away now for a few months so this is the last one for now, or the first one of 2024.

For this card I first took a square of plane white card and die cut a snowflake out the side using the Sweet Poppy snowflake die. I then put that card through an embossing folder to add the pattern. On the base card I stamped a Stampscapes cabin in black so it would be in the centre of the snowflake aperture. Then I've added distress ink to the image, plus a little pencil colour to the cottage. Then a sentiment from Christmas Tidings printed sentiment set. I quite like this final card.

This lovely tiger, from Sweet Poppy Stencils, has been stamped onto kraft card. Then coloured with polychromo pencils. The kraft card seems to intensify the white pencil. Then just a stamped sentiment that has been embossed in white.
