dreams of summer

Welcome to the last chance to enter
for this year. The final theme being a nice easy one
Anything Goes
and this will last for two weeks.
My take this week as we just start winter and the year comes to and end is to look forward to the weather getting nice and warm again. You can probably guess from that I don't like cold weather, the hotter the better for me. So this weeks card is a Stamps Happen stamp called Boat Scene.

The stamped image has been water coloured, just lightly to add a little bit of colour. Then I have used a second image to cut out the small square accents using a punch. This does not have to be a whole stamped image,  just enough to get the squares out of.

These squares have just a little light distressing around the edges, using Tim Holtz distress inks, to make them stand out a bit more from the back ground. The last bit of decoration is a few real tiny sea shells. And there we have the dream, summer will soon be here.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Happy New Year

and this weeks theme is
Happy New Year or Celebrations
My card is a celebration of a long married life with a 70th Wedding Anniversary. I don't think there are many of those. I have choosen to do quite a simple design. The colours are simply white and burgundy. I have used an embossing folder to make the background of white card layered onto burgandy. I have added a piece of burgandy ribbon across the centre to make the join between the top and bottom pieces of white card.

I have then cut a white doily using a Cheery Lyn Die. The swirl leaves have to be one of my favorite
Cheery Lyn Dies so i have put one top and bottom.

A very simple but effective card I think.

All Creatures Great and Small

It's been a long and busy week but here is this weeks card for
The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
And this weeks theme is
All Creatures Great and Small (including Aliens)
No aliens here though, I have gone for a cute little Kitty and her little friend. Sorry but I think this little kityt definately looks like a girl.

The cat stamp has been coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and has been die cut with nestabilitie dies plain circle and scalloped circle. The flowers have been cut out with Marianne dies and swirls.
Her little friend has also been stamped and coloured with copics and he is giving his friend the gift of a fish which is a charm. All the papers are nice shades of girly pink with just a little contrast of grey to match the kitty and mouse.

I have entered this card in the following challenges this week

Merry Christmas

This weeks subject for the
is a inspirational photo and this is my idea taken from the photo
The base card is a gate fold card with an extra bit inside.
All the stamps I have used are from Creative Expressions clear stamp sets and versa colour ink pad.
The green card is Tim Holtz distress card and the borders have been cut with a Fiskars border punch.
I have put a length of green ribbon down the centre of the borders on the inside and a bow on the centre panel.
I have added a little irridescent glitter using a glue pen to the dots on the Merry Christmas greeting and to all the trees. Finished with green gems on the top corners of the front of the card and one on the sentiment inside.

The borders have been cut using Martha Stewart punches. The flowers have been made using punches from plain lilac glitter card and patterned paper with pink and lilac pearls in the centre. With a fern leaf punch to fill in.

Poinsettia Sparkle

This is this weeks card for
which this weeks is a sketch challenge
I thought I would be a little bit christmassy this week. Its a square card with a pretty red backing paper on first. The Poinsettia have been die cut from white glitter card using the Spellbinders die set. I have cut the leaves from green pearlescent card using the largest flower die and cutting the petals up to look like leaves.
The greeting is stamped using a Creative Expressions stamp and cut out using a spellbinders tag die and has an added green layer. I have finished off with red gems on the tag and in the centre of the flowers and clear gems in the top right corner to match the sketch. Wild Thing

It's challenge time again and this is my DT card for this weeks
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
the theme this week is
Spots and Stripes.
I have seen this in a different line and gone with animal print spots and stripes. This week I decided to make an eisel card, the Zebra stripe and Giraffe spot papers are from Kanban.

The main image, an African Safari scene has been water coloured with Tim Holtz distress ink pads to give it a softer colour. I have then stamped part of the image again on to Stampbord. I find it easier to place the stamp on the table and then place the stampbord onto the spot you want to highlight.
The Stampbord has been coloured after stamping with inks and stencil brushes to give a stronger colour.  Then highlights have been scratched along the tree branches and mountains with a small scrapper tool.

I have entered this card into the following challenges;
Dream Valley Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes - Rectangles

Tilda with lace

Here is this week's DT card for
The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
which this week is
Flowers, Ribbon and Lace
This car was a bit of a rush because I have been rather busy. I decided to use a Magnolia stamp. She has been coloured using Tria pens. She has a purple Spellbinders Die cut mount, which is then framed with white lace.

I have added a dark blue organza ribbon which I have kind of pleated at intervals so that it zig-zags across the card.

Then I have added a Cheery Lynn Dies swirly leaf and a few Prima Flowers. A bow in the same dark blue organza sits right under the flowers.

Puff the Magic Dragon

This is quite a cutie for this weeks
which this week theme is
Spooky or Whimsical.
I have gone with the later with this very cheeky dragon, which I have just had to colour green. He is coloured with TRIA pens and the image is cut using Spellbinder labels 2.
I have glittered his wings, smoke clouds and the butterfly trail (well he just has to have a bit of glitter). plus the lovely pink seam binding bow coloured to match with the trias.
The flowers are punched and the leaves are a Mareanne Die. Just a bit more glitter in the centre of the flower and some tiny gems at the corners complete this card.

Wrap up Warm

Its that time of the week again and here is this weeks card for The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, which this week is Wrap up Warm with woolies. This week I have used one of the latest SWALK images, coloured with Tria alcohol pens.
I have added a bit of glitter to the snowflakes, fake snow to the falling snow and puffy stuff to the furry bits on her coat and hat. I have die cut all the layers and added some gold snowflakes down the edge of the card.
Just for a bit of fun I have added a crochet doily for a bit more of the wooly idea. The design is completed with a stamped Merry Christmas sentiment and seam binding coloured to match and tied in a bow.

Red Geisha

Here is my card for this weeks Secret Crafter Challenge of White and one other colour not encluding the image. I like Oriental designs a lot but I don't do as many as I would like to.

The tree is a Sweet Poppy stencil and black embossing paste with a little bit of glitter thrown in.

The Geisha is stamped and coloured with Tria alchohol pens. Then I have cut here out and popped her on the card. The Card base and layers are cut out with large dies, I have used a punch just to decorate the corners of the picture and a bow to finish it off.
