Cog Cat

Happy April Fools day, have you seen any believable jokes yet?

Well the new challenge at
is no joke.

The theme is use a critter
and make it the focal point of your card please.

This one is quite simple really. I've use the Mechanical Cat stencil from Sweet Poppy stencils, and it's in the sale at half price right now. I've used pearlescent white paste and let it dry. The just layered with silver mirror card and a check patterned paper. The sentiment has been stamped and embossed with white powder,

Blue Daisy

New challenge time at

Our theme is
anything goes

.
More of one of my favourite techniques. This is a new stencil to me from Sweet Poppy called Jasmine. I have used white paste through the stencil onto black card and let it dry over night. Then I have coloured over the white paste with alcohol pens. Then I have simply layered it with matching colours onto a white card base and added a sentiment. Quite a simple technique but I think it really stands out.

Mottled Gold

What a busy couple of weeks, my heads just mush, but I'm here now for
this weeks challenge for

It's now
ATG
so just enter and have fun.

I thought I would try something a bit different for this time. I've still used my favourite Sweet Poppy Stencil, this one is called Cosmos. This time I've used a mixture of gold and white paste through the stencil to give a marbled effect. It gives a soft, misty effect which I'm quite pleased with the end result especially combined with the kraft card. Then I've just finished it off with the birthday sentiment.

Sleepy Koala

It's nearly spring here in the UK.
And to day is the start of a new challenge at
Critter Crazy.

Our challenge is just for fun,
but please make a critter the focal point of your card.

This cute sleepy Koala is an image from All Dressed Up and it's called Koala Hugs.
I've coloured it with polychromo pencils. There are 2 patterned papers that make the background. Then I've just added a sentiment as I think the image is so cute on it's own.

Orange Leaves

I'm the host this week for the new

Our challenge is now
Anything Goes

For my inspiration card this week I've gone back to something I haven't done for a while. Using my Sweet Poppy stencil, this one is called Ginko Leaves, I have used glossy white paste through the stencil on craft card. Then left it to dry over night.

Then I have used alcohol pens and coloured over the top of the paste in some of my favourite orange shades. I've then created a few layers using toning orange and brown card. There is a matching knotted ribbon to decorate and a happy birthday stamped sentiment.

Bird on a Wire

New month new challenge at

It is always Anything Goes
but please make a critter the focal point of your card.

I've used 3 different stencils from Sweet Poppy Stencils for this card. To start with I taken the circle aperture to put the initial colour through. Then with the Torn Rectangle I've added extra texture to the colour. Next, having removed the stencils, the small Stampscape trees have been stamped either side of the circle. When all the ink is nice and dry I've taken the bird stencil and pasted it with black paste.

Night Fuchsia

Welcome to the new

All our challenges are now
Anything Goes,

I thought I would try out the Faber Castel Black Edition pencils. The fuschia stamp was stamped and embossed with gold powder. The coloured in with the pencils. It was layered up with a gold matt onto a white card base. The a simple greeting stamped in gold on white card. Not to sure of my thoughts on the pencils yet, maybe will have to play a bit more to decide.
