My Craftroom Door

This is a little bit late but I've been away for the weekend and it was done a little last minute. This is my 1st project at DT member for
It's going to be fun making more mixed media items they are fun to do.

The theme is always Anything Goes.

I have done something quite simple really as it was a bit last minute to get it ready for this challenge.

It's a door hanging that I plan to use on my craft room door. This was just a piece of board, that I covered with a decorative paper and distressed round the edges. I have stamped on the corner, the wording and the leaves. I put eyelets through the corner and tied the canvas ribbon to for hanging purposes. The paper flowers I have hand made with different textured papers and coloured them with distress inks. A simple first project but I hope you all like it.

Fairy Gift

It's time for the mid month reminder, by a Merry Maiden, for the current

The theme is as always anything goes with the twist of
Gifts galore.

I have used an image from our sponsor this month, Sami Stamps, called Gift for Fairy. which is available to buy here.
I have coloured her with Prisma pencils and a little glitter using Crafters Companion glitter pens.

The back ground papers are from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles . They really are very good and easy to use, I have just layered them up with matching pink backgrounds.

I've made a couple of parcels to decorate the corner, they are really simple to do, and a die cut greeting also coloured with the glitter pen.

Lantern Heart

It's time for a new challenge over at

The theme is
Any Thing Goes
( option use chipboard, stencils, diecut toppers)

This is my project for this months challenge. It is a chipboard lantern. I have textured the surface with texture paste, then given it a base coat of acrylic paint.

I have then used distress inks gathered twigs, vintage photo, frayed burlap, pine needles and wild honey, I have rummaged around my garden to find some twigs, moss and stems to make the base of the decorations.

I have then coloured silk ivy leaves with the same distress ink. then finished off the decoration with a little stone heart, a metal butterfly decorated with glitter and a battery candle for safety. I really enjoyed doing this, finding all the bits, and pleased with the result too.

Please pop over to the challenge to see some great inspiration from my fellow team mates.

I love alcohol

welcome to my canvas inspiration for this months challenge at

The theme this month is Anything Goes.

I thought I would take a step back in time to a technique I haven't done for a long time. Many years ago I used to go to a craft shop that has now closed and had some fantastic times their learning lots to do with alcohol inks and I have loved them ever since.

This is a very messy technique but worth the mess. Put down a water proof mate to catch the excess ink that runs off you will be using this later. Take a canvas, even the cheap ones you can get, and submerge it in water so that it is wet through ( see told you it was messy ). Then you take the alcohol inks and drop spots of ink onto the canvas, have the canvas at an angle so the inks will run down. The water lets the inks spread and run and create their own patterns so you will never do two the same. then you just put it to one side to dry.  See it's really easy.

Then it's just decoration time. The large flowers are lengths of plain ribbon, white is best, the just put it into all that ink you have on the mat to colour it in the same colours. When dry run a cotton threasd along one edge and gather it up to make flowers. Then there are small silk flowers, fluffy yarns, bits of rusty wire anything you fancy really arrange onto your canvas as you wish. I hope you all like it, I enjoyed getting messy again,

Floxglove Frenzy

I've rushed to make this card for a challenge and missed getting it in by a couple of minutes. Never mind I'll share it anyway because I really like it.

This has been stamped in distress inks using the Clarity foxglove stamps. The image has then been layered up with 3 shades of coordinating card. The simple sentiment was hand written and a long tailed bow to finish. Never mind maybe next time I'll get there in time.
