Scrap use

It's new challenge day at the Crafty Catz challenge.

The theme this time is "For a Boy"

There is no sponsor this week.

If your like me I have lots of pieces of patterned paper left and I really don't like to throw them away. So this is an easy way to use them up that is really effective and perfect for those men we know.

For my masculine cards I've decided to make use of some left over small pieces of patterned papers. It's really easy to just take various lengths and widths of patterned papers layer them on a co-ordinating plain card. Then just lay them out in an interesting design. These two have had some card candy, die cut stars and a button added for decoration.

Tiny Tiger

It's April Fools day and Easter bank holiday Monday here in the UK.

But it's also the start of a new challenge at

Our theme is always anything goes
but please make a critter the main image on your card.

I've coloured this cute Tiger with polychromo pencils. The base card is Kraft card and I've used a stencil and oxide inks to create the base pattern. Two pieces of tiger stripe patterned paper have been added. The birthday sentiment is stamped in brown Versafine Clair ink. Then some tiger stripe card candi decorates the corners.
