I Saw 3 Ships

I decided to make one last Christmas card before the end of the year and here is it. I have made it using Clarity goodies.

I have used the 3 ships and Christmas greetings stamps. Plus the new Artisan inks on the inside.

Inside the card I have used the inks to create a bit of an ethereal scene of the 3 ships inside. Then die cut the bauble dies so that thre ships can be seen through them. The front is then decorated very simply with ribbon bows and faux stitching round the edge of the die to highlight them. Just a nice clean and simple design, I hope you agree.

I wish all my visitors a Happy New Year and hope you visit my blog sometime,

Paper Piecing

     Gone Fishing

Spot of Golf

I made these a couple of days ago when I went and had a crafty evening with a friend. Playing with her stamps from Woodware.

Very simply done using the paper piecing technique.

By stamping the image again on the patterned paper and cutting it out.

And adding a few die cuts that match the theme.

I have used just a bit of copic colouring to the image.

I love the words that come in the stamp sets too.

They were so quick to do and perfect mans cards too.

Framed and Old

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Artiste.

My make this month is something I actually made a while back and have decided it's about time I put it to good use.

This is a canvas frame decorated using my melt pot and utee. I love playing with my melt pot. The flowers are die cut paper and then dipped in utee. The body form die die cut then the front piece is a clarity stamp stamped into poured utee. Finally the ticket is high lighted with poured and stamped utee.

The background of the frame is book pages which have then been stamped over and the edge of the frame has had utee dripped round it for for a textured effect.

Please pop over to the blog and see what ideas my team mates have designed for you.

Summer'sEnd

Time to say goodbye to summer with my project for this months challenge at

Our sponsor this month is
Dusty Attic.

The fishing net piece is some thing I have had for a few years and decided it needed a bit of updating, so I have taken a piece of canvas board and used some serviette decoupage and modge podge to make the background. The of have attached the fishing net to the board. The 2 Seahorses are real, I have had them for years too, And so are the sea shells and seaweed, can't go to a beach without bringing home some shells.

Just a few words added to complete my project. Please pop over to the challenge blog to see lots more creative ideas and to say hello to our new DT members.

Floral Canvas

Late again, But better late than never.

Our sponsor this month is Stamplorations

I have used a canvas this month but I have used the wrong side for a change. The frame has been covered with torn up pages from a book and the inside edge has been painted with matt black paint.

I have then used a stencil and decorated part of the canvas using distress inks. The edge of the frame and remaining background has then been shaded using the same colours. Some of the flowers have been die cut coloured and dipped in UTEE to give them shape and shine.

The edge of the frame is decorated with hession pieces, string and more flowers. These have also been coloured with the same inks. The works are die cut using Tim Holtz dies.

Driftwood Beach

It's the beginning of July, where is the year going, so it's time for a new challenge at

As usual it is anything goes.

Our sponsor this month is Scrapmatts and Papertole Australia, I have used some of their products in my project this month

The base is an MDF kit from Creative Expression called  Driftwood. I have to say it doesn't look much in the packet but I am really please with it finished. It comes in 6 pieces which I covered in wood effect paper. I sanded this down and distressed it with pumice stone and frayed burlap distress inks.I then decided it needed a little blue to bring back the beach theme so I added some mermaid lagoon. Then I assembled it putting one of the narrow panels across the front for added dimension.

The film reel, main photo decoration and the wording tiles are all from our sponsors and I distressed those to to match the background. The grasses are real ones collected from a field close to my house. I think they finished it off really well.

Please pop over to the blog and see the lovely creations by my fellow team mates, and if you join in you could win a prize from our sponsor.

Framed Beach

Challenge time again at The Creative Artiste Mixed Media challenge.

I saw this frame in a shop, it was just coloured stripes then and I saw this beach seen in my head.
The shells, seaweed and bone fragment I picked up off a beach. I can't help it if I go to the seaside I have to go on a hunt for bits and pieces I may be able to use. The lighthouse and compass are die cut and coloured with distress inks. The fence, sea and sand in the bottom right is a good old rub-on. I've had it for years and it worked perfectly on this project. I just put a picture I'd taken recently in the middle.
I was really pleased with how this turned out. Please pop over to the challenge blog and see what my fellow team mates have made, there are some lovely ideas.
