In the Pink

Today see the start of a new challenge at
Then we start our summer break.
I do hope the warm weather comes back here in the UK.

Our sponsor this time is

This is one of there images called

Our theme is Anything Goes

I fancied a different shape for this challenge so I die cut my card blank into a circle. Then the patterned paper which is part of the image set is also die cut. I've coloured the image of this cute mouse with polychromo pencils. The image is die cut, along with it's background layer. I've cut round 2 of the flowers on the patterned layer so that I can slide the image behind them. The sentiment is stamped and die cut too. I then decided to add some toning gems round the edge of the patterned layer.

Retro Birthday

I thought I would go retro for the new challenge at

Our sponsor this time is
This is one of their images from the set called
Birthday Gnome.

Our theme this time is
Kids Birthday

I've gone back in time for my kid birthday card. I've coloured the image with polychromo pencils, using bright colours, the swirls and stars have been coloured with glitter/metallic pens,The image has then been die cut, and a background layer is die cut out of glitter card. I've cut and coloured, using glitter pens,  a small tag the bottom left corner, with a with love greeting on. Then the real retro point is some corner peel offs to brighten up the corners.
I think card making trends have changed a lot since I started making cards now over 25 years ago.

Happy 100th Birthday Critters

This is the 100th Birthday at the

The theme is the usual must use a critter but
the critter must be celebrating a birthday.

Please check out the challenge blog and join in as there will be lots of
recognition and badges for those that take part.

This is one of my favourite images from Hetty Clair called Tea Party Pony, it also comes in a ready coloured version. I've used is several times. Great for all my horsey friends male or female, it's so versatile. I've coloured it with polychromo pencils. The background is made with a stencil from Sweet Poppy called stripes backplate. I've used the stencil diagonally across the card, one way in red and the other way in gray. The vertical greeting is die cut and finally used some red and gray candy in the corners.

Please check out the projects made by my fellow DT members
to celebrate our 100th challenge.

And this is one of their designs called
Determination

our theme this week is
Anything Goes

This is quite a simple design made with men or boys in mind. The image has been coloured with polychromo pencils. The back ground card has had a frame of masking tape put round the edges, then the centre has been done using shades of grey distress oxide ink. The stencil I've used is  from Sweet Poppy Stencils called Brick Wall. Then I've die cut a sentiment to finish.

Hot and tropical

It's my turn to be host for this weeks new challenge at

Our sponsor this week is

The theme I chose for this week is
Hot Colours

I've picked this lovely flower image and coloured them with polychromo pencils. I've then cut them out and layered them in one corner of the card base. Then the opposite corner I've made a rectangle layer in orange and the white layer has punched corners. The happy birthday sentiment has been die cut out of the same orange card. The leaves have also been die cut.

Sir Hare

Summer has arrived here in the UK as we start the month of June.

So today is the start of the new challenge at

Our theme is always anything goes
but please make a critter the focal point of your card.

This is a stamp from Sweet Poppy Stencils, called Hare, and it's in the sale only £6 reduced from £17.99 and includes the sentiment on the card too. What a bargain. It's a perfect looking hare which I've coloured quite simply with Copic pens. Then, so as not to detract from the image I've put it on die cut layers using a stitched edge rectangle. Then just the sentiment from the stamp set to finish.

Khaki Kid

It's time for a new challenge.

It starts today over at
The Crafty Catz.

Our sponsor this time is

and this is one of their images called

The theme this time is blue and green.

I coloured the image with polychromo pencils. As the theme is blue and green I  wanted to try and make his clothing khaki coloured. The background has been made using a Sweet Poppy stencil called Stripes backplate. I first used it vertically with blue distress oxide, then turned it horizontally and used green distress oxide.

I've used a border punch piece of card and tied blue and white string round it. Then die cut a veritcal happy birthday sentiment to finish it off.
