Prancer

Today see's the start of a new challenge at

The theme is always
Anything Goes
but please make sure that a critter is the focal point of your make.

This is the first Christmas card of 25 I've made. I've die cut a 7 inch circular card base.
Then for the inside of the card I've die cut a circular patterned paper to decorate the inside. With a verse/greeting added on sticky pads higher at the back than the front to make a stop.

The image of this cute reindeer has been coloured with polychromo pencils. I then die cut another circle in white card the same size as the card base. Using a stencil from Sweet Poppy called Large Holly, I've used the stencil twice to decorate this circle. Then layered the Christmas deer on the top. Plus a Christmas sentiment to finish.

Then by folding the front of the card base in half and attaching the second circle with the image on I have this nice easel card. With the pose of this reindeer I just had to call him Prancer.

Autumn Bird

Autumn has arrived, the days are getting shorter. But I do love the colours of autumn.
So the new challenge at the Crafty Catz starts today
and the theme is Autumn colours.

I choose to use a couple of stencils from Sweet Poppy Stencils for my card.
I started with the background. Using masking tape I created a boarder round the edge of the card. Then using paler distress ink, inked the centre of the card. The using the Maple Leaf aperture stencil and darker shades of the same colours in the background I inked 2 leaves, leaving the centre of the leaves quite pale.

Then I used the Curlew (bird 1) using a dark brown archival ink. The sentiment is quite general and is also from Sweet Poppy.

I felt like something quick and simple for this card. The image is so amusing on it's own. I coloured it with polychromo pencils. Then just added a blue toning border and a sentiment.

Jungle King

Well summer is nearly over, it's been quite a warm one at times here in the UK.

So today we have a new challenge at

Our theme is always anything goes
but please make a critter the focal point of your make.

This little leo the lion is from a set of images from Polkadoodles. It's a full Zodiac set. Really useful as it would suit both male and female occasions.

I've coloured it with polychromo pencils. The background is a stencil called Palm Leaves from Sweet Poppy Stencils. The colours I've kept tropical colours. The red card is a touch of recycling as it was the box of a bottle of perfume. A gold ribbon bow finishes this card off.

I Remembered

Wow another month gone, time does really fly by.

So it's time for a new challenge at
The Critter Crazy challenge.

Our theme is always Anything Goes
but please make sure a critter is the main image on your make.

So my card this time is aimed at little people, This little elephant is so sweet. I've coloured him with polychromo pencils. There is a lovely toning patterned paper in the background. The colours have been kept quite simple with pink and gray. Then just the sentiment. Definitely looks like a little girl elephant to me.

In the Pink

Today see the start of a new challenge at
Then we start our summer break.
I do hope the warm weather comes back here in the UK.

Our theme is Anything Goes

I fancied a different shape for this challenge so I die cut my card blank into a circle. Then the patterned paper which is part of the image set is also die cut. I've coloured the image of this cute mouse with polychromo pencils. The image is die cut, along with it's background layer. I've cut round 2 of the flowers on the patterned layer so that I can slide the image behind them. The sentiment is stamped and die cut too. I then decided to add some toning gems round the edge of the patterned layer.

Retro Birthday

I thought I would go retro for the new challenge at

Our sponsor this time is
This is one of their images from the set called
Birthday Gnome.

Our theme this time is
Kids Birthday

I've gone back in time for my kid birthday card. I've coloured the image with polychromo pencils, using bright colours, the swirls and stars have been coloured with glitter/metallic pens,The image has then been die cut, and a background layer is die cut out of glitter card. I've cut and coloured, using glitter pens,  a small tag the bottom left corner, with a with love greeting on. Then the real retro point is some corner peel offs to brighten up the corners.
I think card making trends have changed a lot since I started making cards now over 25 years ago.
