canvas art

Welcome to the weeks
and this weeks theme chosen my my buddie Jane is
Anything but a card.

Our sponsors this week are Heathers Hobbie Haven and the prize to the winner is $15 voucher.

For my piece this week I have done a bit of canvas work. It's roughly a A4 size canvas. The background has been done using Tim Holtz distress inks Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Barn door , Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint. I have applied them using duster brushed and torn paper as a stencil for the hills.

The stamps are the large branch, small trees and grasses are from Stamps Scapes, and the large tree is an Elusive Iamges stamp. I have added a sentiment from Darkroom Door. I have stamped them using Brown Stazon.

I have finished it off with some stamped leaves and cut them out to add a little texure.

I would like to enter this in the following Challenges:
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes
Bearly-Mine - Anything Goes

In the Garden

Welcome to this weeks challenge at
This weeks theme chosen by fellow teamy and very talented Helen is
In The Garden

This weeks sponsor is The Stamping Boutique
and the prize is 5 Digi's of your choice.

I've done two simple cards for the challenge this week.
I've been playing with Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks.

I've made the backgrounds by swirling the inks and blending solution on to the coated card stock. Then I have just stamped an image using Stazon black ink into the bac ground. The same image has been stamped onto the corner of the base card in Distress ink Pumice stone and the sentiment has been done in the same colour. Then it's all layered up onto a complimentary cardstock.

This has been done the same way as the previous card except that instead of stamping on the base card I have added a punched border using a Marcha Stewart border punch. Because this stamped image is more of a reverse image, (the ink sticks to the background and the flowers are clear) the background looks black and the alcohol ink colours the flowers. Same technique but two differnt looks.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

My card this week is pink and girly. The base card I have stamped round the edge and then distresses it. the pink paper then layered on top. I have stamped the flower image onto card and just slightly coloured it with a glitter pen.

This has then been layered onto pink card with a row of faux stitching, and then onto a black patterned paper. The sentiment has been stamped onto shrink plastic and then hung from a bright pink bow with a little bit of wire. The flowers a Prima Paper flowers layered up with a large pearl brad in the centre's. I hope my mum would have liked this if I could give it to here. But I still love you mum.

Flower Or Cabbage

It's that time of the week again so it must be time for the new
This weeks theme chosen by Francesca is a sketch.

We have 3 sponsors this week they are
Crafters Companion with a £10 voucher
Digi Darla with 5 digi's of your choice
Whimsy Stamps with 5 digi's of your choice

That's a real incentive to have a go and enter your card cause you never know .

For my card this week I have chosen to do a Magnolia Tilda again. From the title of this entry I think she is supposed to be holding a flower but I think it looks a bit like a cabbage. Sorry. The colour was influenced by a piece of lacy material, which I brought from the NEC in March, which is browns and blue's in colour. The orange background paper just seemed to show the colour up perfectly so that was What I went with and coloured her to match with Tria pens.

I have put a length of blue ribbon and cream lace behind the image, a small doily distressed with Broken China and added some matching flowers and some punched out leaves in the top left corner. I have put a ribbon bow in the bottom left and a stamped and embossed birthday message in the bottom right. Not a usual colour combination but I think it looks ok.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Deep Ocean - Diecuts/Punches
